Watching Sundar Pichai talk about ‘Why Machine Learning is the future’ gave me a feeling of consciousness, back in 2017. 'Better computational power and access to a lot of relevant data are the two main causes of the progress in ML' he said. I've always felt this branch of computer science to be exciting, be it data analysis, or data visualization and emphasizing it with ML algorithms or data storage. My immediate goal after masters is to become a Data Scientist. In the foreseeable future, I see myself becoming a Data Scientist as I am hugely inspired by D J Patil, Former Chief Data Scientist at the White House, first ever chief data scientist appointed by US government. His pointers about striving for curiosity, team building, social and local problem solving always inspire me to crave for becoming a CDS. I am a motivated and a versatile engineer with demonstrated experience in Machine Learning and Data Analysis domain. Experienced in data extraction, developing ML algorithms and developing final predictive model. I am a strong problem solver, have excellent communication skills and dedicated to exceed goals and expectations.

Internships provide an initial, direct experience of operating within a professional environment. They enable us to apply previously acquired skills, knowledge, and theoretical understanding. In my view, internships represent a progressive learning journey that offers a glimpse into the professional world. Over the past few years, I've successfully completed three such learning ventures.

Projects

I firmly believe that practical coding experience and engagement in projects serve as the fundamental literacy in the digital realm. For a programmer, comprehending and effectively working with the technology in their environment holds utmost significance. My journey in coding began during my engineering days, and I would like to share a few examples that showcase my proficiency, ingenuity, mathematical aptitude, and self-assurance.

Finding Ideal Location for a New Restaurant

Yelp data set was analysed for finding ideal location for a new restaurant or an existing restaurant wanting to expand. Implemented k-means algorithm, VADER lexicon, logistic regression to find paramaters that ensure the restaurant will be successful and used Google Maps API to find ideal locations.

Micro Credit Loan Defaulter

Implemented logistic regression, linear SVM, decision tree, random forest and gradient boost classifier to predict potential defaulters by using past data to reduce credit risks. The candidate's income, past debt and repayment behavior were important metrics for the same.

Sales Data Analysis of Walmart Stores

Implemented pyspark, matplotlib and linear regression model. As there are several elements that might influence sales in each department, it is critical that we identify the important aspects that influence sales and utilize them to construct a model that will assist in accurately projecting sales.

EDA of Avocado Dataset

Implemented Support Vector Regressor, Decision Tree Regressor, and Random Forest Regressor to predict average price of avocados.

Predicting Customer Retention

Predicting the customer retention is crucial for any business so I implemented ML algorithms to predict the customer retention by working on a cellular company's dataset.

Implementing Genetic Algorithm for Feature Optimization

Implemented and optimized the solution of knapsack problem using genetic algorithm.

Skills & Organizations

Skills play a vital role in shaping an individual's career as they determine their proficiency in a particular field. In my view, apart from skills and knowledge, socializing holds significant importance too. During my academic journey, I actively participated in numerous clubs and organizations to enhance my self-confidence, public speaking abilities, and networking skills.
